Termites can be a costly problem for homeowners and businesses. Not only are they expensive to get rid of, they cause sever damage to wood and wood products and can make a structure unstable and unsightly. That is why you need to take swift and serious action whenever you have reasons to suspect your home has been invaded by termites. However, be warned. There are many less than honest people out there who seek to take advantage of the unsuspecting consumer who is already distraught at the site of these pesky little critters. That is why you should exercise care and caution in selecting a termite exterminator. Following are a few things which should help you to know how to select one that is right for your property.

First, some red flags. Do not, I repeat, do not do business with any exterminator who comes to your home uninvited. A sure sign that you are about to be ripped off is when someone comes to your home and says s/he just happened to be in your neighborhood or that he/she just completed a job and has some chemical left over which needs to be used so that it does not go to waste. No matter how attractive the price appears to be, send this person packing. Another red flag is the person claims to have a secret formula or process. Don’t buy it.

So how should you go about selecting a termite exterminator? First, make sure you know how to identify these creatures and that you do have an infestation. Not only should you learn how to identify termites, you should also learn some of the common signs of an invasion.

Remove Stains From Clothes

Posted on Saturday 11 July 2009

Here, I’ll be outlining the most effective ways to get your shirts looking like new again and save you some cash on your undershirt shopping list.

So, let’s get started with the first method and get those pit stains out!

1. Using the Right Detergents
Use liquid laundry detergent containing either oxygenated ingredients or ones that remove most protein-based stains and apply it directly to the sweat stains. Then, with your fingers, gently rub the detergent deep into the shirt fibers to cover the entire stain. Let it soak into the material for about half an hour. Wash in the laundry afterwards as you normally would.

2. Hydrogen Peroxide
This one is for white articles of clothing only. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down the protein residue in sweat stains. The results? Applying hydrogent peroxide on white clothing keep your garments from turning dark or yellowish over the armpit area over time.

Living Room Decorating Ideas

Posted on Saturday 11 July 2009

An effective decoration of a room largely depends on its size and shape and mainly the purpose for which it is going to be used. Living room decoration can be either a simple task or a complicated one depending on the people that are going to use it. Simple if it is going to be empty for most of the time except when the family is at home; complicated if a lot of entertainment is going to take place. But that does not mean that it should not be the opposite also. It largely depends on the person who is going to decorate it. Another complication would be if a constant stream of children and pets are going to be traversing the room.

The shape of the room also has a big say in the kind of décor that it can take. In a large room with plenty of space, it can be segregated into some definite functional space. A small office space beneath the stairs or a formal dining area in a separate place by itself. The use of colors also has a telling impact on the atmosphere of a room. If not judiciously used a large room may look small and cold; if judiciously used a small room can be made to look larger and warmer. The wall art and other accessories in the living room sets its ambience. The more uncluttered the room the more comfortable it is to live in and spend time.

Keep picture sizes small wherever possible, or maybe a large one in one of the larger walls. Avoid substantially large pictures as far as possible. A two-seater settee, rather than a three-seater will create an impression of space. Mirrors are good accessories as long as they are placed in strategic positions as they refract light around the room.
